How Protein Index is funded.
Protein Index uses clearly labelled affiliate links for selected Top Athlete and Protein Supplies Australia products. We may earn a commission when a reader follows one of these links and makes an eligible purchase. Affiliate relationships never affect scores or ranking positions.
Commercial separation
Affiliate links are labelled and kept separate from editorial scoring. Other manufacturer links remain research-source or purchase-information links unless an active affiliate relationship is disclosed beside the link.
Commercial arrangements do not affect product scores, ranking positions, evidence labels, inclusion criteria or editorial conclusions.
Current affiliate relationships
Top Athlete and Protein Supplies Australia are currently affiliate partners of 1% Better. Selected protein and creatine product pages contain tracked purchase links. If a reader purchases an eligible product after using one of these links, 1% Better may receive a commission.
Protein Supplies Australia provides readers with 10% off full-priced products using code SHIRLEY10. The code cannot be used on sale items. Top Athlete joined in August 2026 and Protein Supplies Australia joined in September 2026. Neither relationship changed the scoring methodology, underlying product evidence or any ranking position.
Commercial launch controls
- Affiliate links must be clearly identified close to the link, not only on this page.
- Outbound links must be tracked separately from product scores.
- Rankings and methodology must remain stable and explainable.
- Sponsored placements, if introduced later, must sit outside editorial rankings and carry a prominent “Sponsored” label.
- Paid arrangements cannot buy a score, ranking position, evidence label or favourable conclusion.
Product inclusion
Products are selected for review based on availability, consumer interest, category relevance and access to enough current information. Inclusion is not an endorsement. Payment does not guarantee inclusion or a favourable result.
Samples and information from brands
Brands may provide products or information for review. Receiving a sample does not guarantee coverage or affect the score. Any supplied sample will be disclosed on the relevant assessment.
Future 1% Better products
If a 1% Better product is included in a future ranking, its ownership will be disclosed prominently and it will be assessed under the same published methodology. Owned products will not receive preferential treatment, and the product area will remain separate from independent editorial rankings.
Corrections
Brands and readers may submit corrections with current labels, reports, certifications or equivalent supporting evidence. Corrections are assessed using the same standards as the original review.
This page and every affected link will be updated when a new affiliate, advertising or sponsorship relationship begins. The date and nature of the change will be stated clearly.
